COPY REGULATIONS

  • Liability for content of ads (text, representation, and illustrations) is assumed by advertisers and advertising agencies for any claims arising therefrom against Publisher.
  • Publisher reserves right of refusal of any advertisement.
  • Editorial simulation of advertising must have prior approval of Publisher and must carry “Advertisement” line at top of each insert, page, or fractional ad.

INSERTS (pdf)

  • For rates on inserts, consult Advertising Director.
  • Ad copy and stock weight for inserts must be approved by the Publisher in advance of publication. Maximum stock permitted: 70-lb. coated text. If insert contains reply card, maximum stock weight permitted is 7-point.
  • A facsimile of each insert indicating proposed copy areas and trim edges must be submitted to Publisher for approval. A final copy of the insert must be approved in advance of issue by Publisher.
  • Advertiser supplies preprinted inserts in sufficient quantity to match press run of issue.
  • Publisher has the right to require that the word “Advertisement” is printed on any insert resembling editorial or run-of-book material.
  • All inserts must meet U.S. Postal Service requirements.

GENERAL INFORMATION

DETAILS

  • Bleed ads: no additional charge.
  • Rates are determined by the total space used within a 12-month period, dating from first insertion. Earned frequency is determined by total number of insertions, not issues.
  • Premium position charges are in addition to earned contract rate. For Cover 2, Cover 3, and Cover 4, add 15%. Special position requests are subject to an additional 10% charge.
  • Higher earned frequency rates are available. Ask your local Marketing Representative or consult Advertising Director.
  • Insertion orders and cancellations must be received in writing on or before ad issue closing date.
  • Short rates will be billed on cancellation of contract or failure to fulfill minimum requirements.
  • Rebates earned by using additional space within a 12-month period will be deducted from final billing.
  • All new and/or first-time advertisers are required to prepay their first ad insertion. No exceptions.

NOTICE

  • The advertisements in NADA’s AutoExec Magazine and the official NADA Convention Guide are accepted on the representation that advertiser and its agency have the right to publish the contents thereof. In consideration of such publications, advertiser and its agency agree to indemnify and hold Publisher harmless against any expense or loss by reason of any claims arising out of publication.
  • All contents of advertisements are subject to Publisher’s approval. Publisher reserves the right to reject or cancel any advertisement, insertion order space reservation, or position commitment at any time. Publisher reserves the right to add the word “Advertisement” to any ad that resembles editorial matter.
  • Positioning of advertisements is at the discretion of Publisher.
  • Agency fee of 15% on gross billing to advertising agency of record only. Agency fee is applicable on space, color, and position only. The agency fee is not available on production or bindery charges.
  • Publisher shall have no liability for errors in key numbers, advertisers’ index, or booth numbers.
  • Cancellations or changes in orders may not be made by the advertiser or its agency after space closing date. Covers are noncancelable.
  • Publisher’s sole obligation as to any failure or default on its part shall be limited to refunding charges that may have been paid, or, at Publisher’s option, to publishing the tendered advertising in the next available issue.
  • Publisher shall have the right to hold advertiser and/or agency jointly liable to such monies as are due and payable to Publisher for advertising that advertiser or agency ordered and which advertising was published.
  • No conditions other than those set forth in this rate card, #54, shall be binding on Publisher unless specifically agreed to in writing by Publisher. Publisher shall not be bound by conditions printed or appearing on order blanks or copy instructions that conflict with provisions of this rate card.
  • Publisher is not liable for delays in delivery and/or nondelivery in the event of an Act of God, action by any governmental or quasigovernmental entity, fire, flood, insurrection, riot, explosion, embargo, strikes, labor or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work slowdown, or any condition beyond the control of Publisher affecting production or delivery in any manner.
  • All insertion orders are accepted subject to provision of our current rate card. Rates are subject to change on notice from Publisher. Earned frequency is based on total number of insertions within a 12-month period dating from the first insertion. An adjustment of the rate (short-rate) will be made on cancellation of space reservations for any reason.

DEADLINES

  • Closing date for insertion orders: five weeks before issue date.
  • Materials due: one month before issue date.
  • Space cancellation will not be accepted after closing date.

AD AGENCY COMMISSION

  • 15% of gross billing to recognized agencies on space, color, and position only.
  • Thirty days, net to companies with satisfactory credit rating. Otherwise, advance payment is required.
