FORD SALUTES NINE DEALERS FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE
February 9, 2008—Nine Ford Motor Co. dealer principals received the 2008 Salute To Dealers award here yesterday before the convention. Honorees were picked from a field of more than 6,000 U.S. and Canadian dealers for community service efforts ranging from supporting the fight against Parkinson’s disease to helping at-risk youths. When the dealers were nominated, Ford board member Edsel B. Ford II, who oversees the award program, said, “The nine dealers honored this year by Salute To Dealers epitomize the spirit of corporate citizenship that my great-grandfather built into the fabric of Ford Motor Co. more than a century ago. Together with their fellow dealers, these individuals strengthen communities and bring hope to thousands of people across our country.”
This year’s judges were Edsel Ford; Jim Vella, president, Ford Fund; Steve Finlay, senior editor, Ward’s Dealer Business; Rick Titus, automotive expert, Drivers Talk Radio; and 2006 Salute To Dealers honoree Sam Pack of Sam Pack Automotive Group.
