SLIP-N-GRIP’S CA$HMAT REVAMPS VEHICLE INTERIOR PROTECTION
February 9, 2008—Vehicle protection specialist Slip-N-Grip (booth no. 1165W) is debuting Ca$hMat floor mats with industry-first perforated tear-off coupons for future service. Before placing the mats in vehicles, service staffers remove the coupons and hand them to customers. The four-color coupons can boost sales and repeat business by advertising special offers and product promos, the company says, while boosting brand awareness and dealership quality. The mats measure 17 inches by 22 inches long, long enough so the coupons to be removed from the mat while leaving ample area for protection.

AUTONET MOBILE OFFERS NEW WIFI ROUTER FOR CARS
February 9, 2008—Autonet Mobile (booth 2955W), the world’s first in-car Internet service provider, offers a new accessory option for cars with its WiFi router, which turns an automobile into a wireless hotspot and gives every passenger Internet access. “We wanted to bring a functionality to the car that everybody could use,” says company co-founder and CEO Sterling Pratz. “You’re taking your Internet connection with you everywhere you go.” And Autonet recently partnered with Delphi to enter the automotive aftermarket. “People use the Internet to shop and reduce the price of the cars, now dealers can turn it around and sell the Internet,” Pratz says. The option will cost about $595, he adds.
COMPARING COMMERCIAL BUSINESS INSURANCE
February 9, 2008—Reno, Nev.–based Compared Insurance Inc. (booth 2912W), an internet-based service that offers businesses a menu of services to streamline the process of evaluating and choosing commercial business insurance. The business-to-business company focuses on simplifying the purchase of property and casualty insurance, has launched a new service that its founders believe will save dealers significant time and money. Using its patent pending software, CompariSys, the 20,000 new-car dealers will be able, for the first time, to compare the coverage and service of several insurance proposals quickly and easily, saving time and money, the firm says. The software lets dealers compare several insurance proposals electronically.
