|
Holloway wins award. |
January 31, 2004—Former NADA chairman Paul J. Holloway,
president of Dreher-Holloway, Inc., is the 2004 Time Magazine Quality
Dealer. The Rye, N.H., dealer credited his employees for the honor: “They
allow me to do what I do, and they cover for me when I make mistakes.”
Holloway also paid tribute to the late Frank McCarthy, NADA’s
president for 33 years. “He helped make NADA what it is today,
and I’ll never be able to thank him enough for the help he gave
me.”
A 40-year auto retail veteran, Holloway has five stores throughout
southern New Hampshire. He has been active in educational projects,
including serving on the board of trustees of the University System
of New Hampshire for 16 years, four of them as chairman. He has received
the Robert Frost Outstanding Citizen Award, the Laurence Whittemore
Distinguished Service Medal at UNH, and an honorary doctor of law degree
from UNH. Keene State College named a new dormitory for him, and the
University of New Hampshire dedicated a student center to him.
